Acquisition

An acquisition is when one company purchases most or all of another company's shares to gain control of that company.

Example
The business acquisition meant that it would be merging with a smaller enterprise.
The college library was celebrating an acquisition of works by famous authors.

events, ice cream socials, birthday celebrations, sporting events, paid group lunches, and sponsored sports teams.
