Signal and System?

 Signal: Any entity or variable which carries some information, for example temperature, velocity,
sound, image, light, video etc.
1. Electrical signals- Voltages and currents in a circuit
2. Acoustic signals-Acoustic pressure (sound) over time
3. Mechanical signals-Velocity of a car over time
4. Video signals-Intensity level of a pixel (camera, video) over time

 System: Collection of components, working in coordination with each to achieve a desired goal,
for example college, human body, computer, pen etc.

How are Signal and System related?
• A system takes a signal as an input and transforms it into another signal

Input signal Output signal

System
x(t) y(t)
