THE NEW MAN

PLOT
A man called, Jones Bill who happened to be cloned human from the laboratory. He then
come out after been there for eighteen years, while working there he wonder and ask
himself some questions on why the workers there couldn’t related with him as they relate
with each other, even Bill the man they bear same surname with, hated him, he treated him
with inhuman detachment.
So he became lonely because he had no friends, he live in a small isolated bungalow, his
neighbours were unfriendly, when he share this with his friends they laugh at him and no
one dare offer an explanation to him. Sometimes his curiosity make him listen to what his
friends are saying.
He heard his friends those in the complex, as they talked about race – white, black,
coloured and other things, and this got him thinking. He then entered a car by the car park
and drove off, he then stop at a restaurant called Boulevard restaurant. He was welcome by
a man who shot out his right hand and said hello to him, it surprise him, for the first time he
has find someone friendly relating to him.
They had a conversation as they discussed, the man introduced himself as George Orwell,
Jones thought he was the writer a book he saw with that same name, but got the answer
no, so after George explained how some writer use another name on their work which he
said was not wrong, Jones then introduced himself as Jones Bill who worked with human
cloning centre in downtown New York. George find it interesting, as he meet a with a
worker from there the first time. He then shared what he think about the place when Dr.
Smith come up with the idea of opening such place.
As their discussion continued Jones try to find out the reason why from George about his
neighbours who do not want to be closely related to him, so he brought the matter and
George explained, he is not so clear he then ask about the word cloned which he heard
them speak of in the laboratory and George explained the word cloned in the case of
laboratory, Jones then told George plainly of someone calling him cloned. After George
realizes that it was true that he shot hand with cloned human he ran to restaurateur's office
and ask for help on, after all them realizes they all left one and another and left him later
him too left.
THEME
Cloned Human
Apart from real humans, this is days there is what the scientists do called cloning, this
cloning is the generating of human in laboratory by a gene or cell, or organism. And I think
the writer is drawing attention to such things that the modern science do, as his main
discussion focuses on it and he make us to understand about cloned human comehow it will
be dangerous to live and relate with this type people.
 CHARACTERIZATION
Some of the characters in the story are: Jones Bill, Bill, George Orwell and others whose
name are not stated.
Jones: is the major character in the story, he play the role of the cloned human. As a cloned
human he have no past, no family, no ancestry, and no future, the workers in where he was
working knowing who he was, refused to associate or relate with him. He was much
concerned about their behavior towards him and this got him worry and make him ask so
many questions about himself. For he did not like they way he is lonely and will want to be
friendly and be relating with people. So he went his way to a place called Boulevard
restaurant and met a friend their who is so friendly to him, not knowing who is he at first
but after their discussion as he get to know he deserted him and everyone in that
restaurant.
Bill: in this story he was a chief researcher working in the laboratory who hated Jones the
most. He display the role of which he show indifferent and inhuman toward Jones, may be
for the reason of him been a cloned human.
George Bill: may be aa young who come to have a launch time in the restaurant but I
don't think he is worker in the restaurant,casl he play a vital role by relating friendly to
Jones, and in the process they discussed and both of them get know some things.
BEGINNING OF THE END
PLOT
The story tells of the strange things that may happen at the end, it tell of how people and
animals are having terrible experience of the happenings around them, there was a cry for
help as people are turning to animals, some half human and half animal, such as, elephant,
python, fish, and frog, all families worldwide had one or two members turned into animals.
Humanity had been deceived by thinking herself as civilised, but instead lwe find ourselves
in the state of half man and half animal, humanity somehow adapted to the great change
due to discovery that all animals irrespective of whether they were once human or not
could now speak and humans could understand them clearly.
It's no longer strange since every family has his or her member an animal, animals can be
seen acting like humans. And those humans who are turned into animals have to do things
like the kind of animals they are turned into, that's they are change in their perspective.
A lesson to learn from the tilapia fish about the need for patience. They learn to be
patience in the dry season until the rainy season come. This teaches us never to give up but
to have hope in difficult times, for there will be solution around to our problems. We also
learn a lesson from the reactions of different animals to different situations.
THEMES
The deception of the end
 People are deceived with the happenings around them and this just give them impression
of the end but this happenings around are not really the end of the world but rather they
served as signs of the end time So one should not be deceived by them, some are saying the
coming of technology has something to do with the end but that is not truth, but it just that
people take the civilised world and be doing some terrible things, the writer described the
present stage of our days as civilised but people are on the state of half man and half
animals leaving humanity in a great danger, the signs should be lesson to the people.
CHARACTERIZATION
Many of the characters mentioned are not human but animals some of which humans
turned into, this are: Rats, dogs, elephant, fish, frog and rhino. And some animal from which
we can learn lesson from are: tilapia, lion, hyena, jackal and fox, and vultures.
Tilapia: he is using the life of this fish to teach a lesson to people of how they needed to
be patience in difficult circumstances, he did that by illustrating how fish hardly live in the
dry season and how the try to survived till the rainy season.
Vultures: in this the vultures show the life of been honest and sincere, and this
illustrations is to teach people about their character of been selfish and greedy.
I think the writer try to compare the life of those animals with people, and he somehow
show where they were better than us in the way they live.
