Three Steps to Grow Your Career as a Management Professional

As a management professional, you might feel that you spend way too
much time trying to improve your English as a language in general. You
continue to have trouble participating in meetings, understanding your
colleagues when they speak English especially when they use advanced
business English idioms, phrases, or expressions. Also you might have trouble
engaging in presentations in an effective way.

You’ve watched countless

videos, studied grammar books,
and even spent money on
courses promising better
English in a short amount of
time.

However, you're still not at the

level you want to be at in your
career.

The truth is that if you keep doing what you do, you're going to burn
out before you ever reach the level of English proficiency you wanted.

Instead of continuing to learn and focusing on learning English in

general and learning everything, you need to focus on the SKILLS you need to
advance your communication and presentation in English. Only then you will
learn the specific skills you need to be a better management professional.

Please also keep in mind that it usually takes a VERY long time,
sometimes even years to improve your English if you are learning in a general
way. Also keep in mind that it takes significantly less time to learn only the
skills you need to improve your professional life at work.

Let me use an analogy to help you understand.

We ALL know what the benefits of vitamin C are, like helping your
immune system and lowering the risk of disease.

Let’s say your vitamin C level is low, and you want to fix it. Instead of
taking concentrated vitamin C pills, you decide to take multivitamin pills.
You know what’s going to
happen next. You can take
multivitamin pills every day, but
your vitamin C level will not
improve as much as you’d like
because you are not focused on
solving the problem.

It seems very straightforward,

but this is exactly what has
happened to your English
learning journey. You have tried
to learn everything about
English, but you only need to
focus on learning the specific type of English that you need to improve your
communication and presentation skills in English that you need to be a
better management professional.

In order to improve your English so you can better your communication

and presentation skills to become more confident and comfortable and
secure your future career possibilities, you need to follow these three steps.

1. Solidify your communication foundation

You need to explore the business culture of English speaking countries,

study new phrases, expressions and idioms of business English. This will help
you establish your foundation so that you can better understand your
colleagues, boss or clients so that you can be more successful in those
relations.

Exposing you to and learning new business English terminology will

help you feel more understood and relaxed when interacting with English
speakers.

Just like you need a good foundation for a house or even a skyscraper to
be able to build on top you need to establish a good foundation for you to be
able to learn or build these new skills on top of what you already have.

2. Improve your communication efficiency

You really need to focus on how you communicate at work. Whether

it’s with clients or customers or your boss, whether you're involved in
meetings or sales calls you might have trouble finding the right words to say.
Thinking about this more you also might need to improve your
pronunciation through specific training.

You need all these things and you need to be more prepared so that
you can understand people at work more and so that your colleagues will
understand you more.

Once you acquire these skills misunderstandings will be less and you
will be more confident and comfortable using English at work!

3. Build your professional communication through presenting effectively

You might need help on how NOT to lose your audience when you
present. The fact that you might not be comfortable plus having limited
English complicates things when you give presentations.

There are specific techniques you have to learn about especially when it
comes to enthusiasm during presenting.

To do effective presentations you have to know how to draft or make

them in a structured and organized way. Then you have to know specific ways
on how to practice your presentation beforehand.

If you try or strive to do all of

these things you will be more
confident and comfortable
when presenting. Your
presentations will also be more
interesting so that you can
captivate your audience.

Feel free to send me a

message if you would like to
advance your communication
and presentation in English.
Only then you can learn the
specific skills you need to be a better management professional in the
shortest amount of time!

Thank you for your time and I am looking forward to meeting you!
