1. There are 5 macro skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, and Viewing).

I want you to
arrange these macro skills according to your difficulty level. The first should be the most
difficult and 5 is the least challenging one for you. Support your answers in at least 5 sentences.

 I would rank them in the following order according to how challenging they are: speaking,
listening, viewing, reading, and writing. I put speaking, and listening as two of the hardest
macro skills because, as for speaking, I sometimes stutter or mumble some words, which
leads to losing my confidence moving forward. And as for listening, it really depends on the
speaker on whether he/she elaborates on every detail of the concepts, and I also get distracted
easily and would lose track of what the certain topic is talking about. I put viewing, reading,
and writing as three of the least difficult for me since viewing requires you to examine and
analyze certain parts, which I’m more comfortable doing. As for reading and writing, you are
not under pressure. Your brain can concentrate on comprehending certain ideas, and
especially for me, who is a former campus journalist; I can clearly express myself through
reading and writing.

2. What is the role of English language in your chosen course? What are the possible tasks that are
usually done using the English language? How will you overcome these challenging tasks?

 In today's business-oriented world, English has become the most commonly used language in
the world of commerce. Having the right knowledge of English can help an employee
succeed in their job, and it is extensively utilized as the primary means of communication for
both small company concerns and huge corporate entities. Furthermore, it is vital for success
in the workplace, from landing a job to dealing with clients to building strong global business
relationships. It is now so widely used in business around the world that it serves as the
default official language in a number of sectors and is employed in many facets of our lives,
particularly in business. In order to overcome these challenging tasks, you should believe in
yourself that you can do it. Even if you feel like you aren’t doing well, just keep pushing and
know that everything will be perfect when you put a lot of dedication and hard work into
everything that you do. Also for my spare time, I would be willing to improve my macro
skills in order for me to become more competent.
3. Here are my ratings for the following items:

3.1 Grammar (3) – I do admit that writing grammar in English have been the hardest and
confusing. However, I still manage to point out and finished my certain topic.

3.2 Vocabulary (4) – I can confidently say that my vocabulary is quite good since I mostly adapt
what I have read or watched on every English film but sometimes there is some instances that
my vocabulary is not that good or not clearly expressed enough.

3.3 Articulation (3) – Speaking articulately may be easy or hard for me because some of the
words are very hard to pronounce or sometimes because of lack of confidence I may say the
word into a lazy tone that may sound wrong pronouncing it.

3.4 Comprehensibility (4) – I understand simple terms or concepts but there’s some occasion that
I don’t understand or the term is too deep to understand which I needed to improve.

3.5 Coherence (3) – In coherence, I still have a lot to improve since it should have clear
connections between them in order to logically and linguistically construct a cohesive whole
which I’m not slightly good at.
