• Use the comparative form of adjectives to compare two people or things
The comparative has two forms: (adjective) + -er than or more (adjective) than.
Some students are talking about the food at school. Write the comparative form
of the adjective.
EXAMPLE: (delicious) The spaghetti is more delicious than the tacos.
(expensive) Roast beef is more expensive than hot dogs.
2. (cheap) The potato chips are than the French fries.
3. (fresh) The salad is Fresher than the fruit cup.
4. (large) The cheeseburger is Larger than the hamburger.
5. (good) The food is Better at lunch than at dinner.
6. (nice) The tables outside are Nicer than the tables inside.
7. (big) The sodas in the cafeteria are Bigger than the sodas from the vending machine.
8. (polite) The servers here are more Polite than the servers at my other school.
9. (sweet) This candy is Sweeter than that candy.
10. (bad) This cafeteria is terrible. Worse The pizza is than the spaghetti.
11. (small) The portions are smaller at lunch than at dinner.
12. (hot) The coffee in the cafeteria is hotter than the coffee from the lunch truck.

Use than after a comparative adjective followed by a noun:A letter is cheaper than a phone
call. Use the before a superlative: The Internet IS the cheapest form of communication.
