An organization is a structure through which individuals and groups cooperate

systematically to conduct business. The organizational structure of emirates is a very


tall, rather hierarchical structure hence the structure starts with Chairman, Vice
presidents, Executive secretaries, Divisional VP , Senior VP, Regional managers,
Area managers, Department heads and Supervisors below that the staff reporting
upwards.
People and teams work in harmony systematically to do business in an organisation. Emirates has a tall,
hierarchical structure. The structure began with:
 the board of directors
 ,CEO/Chairman of board,
 Vice President,
 Executive secretaries,
 Divisional VP ,
 Senior VP,
 Regional managers,
 Area managers,
 Department heads and
 Supervisors below

Each person below hierarchy would report upwards to the person above hierarchy. he structure of
emirate contains functional department under supervisors There are functional/operational
departments like the HR, accounting and finance, marketing so on, . The structure contains the
leadership team and also the structure of the organization is from passenger sales
executive management to the operational level managers.

The following organisation chart gives a brief overview of organization chart of Emirate Airlines.The
president of Emirate Airline, Tim Clark reports to the CEO, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad.The CEO reports
to the board of Director.The executive president(CCO,COO so on) report to the president Tim Clark or to
CEO.
Emirates Airlines has a tall organisational structure since the size of organization (no. of management
level) increases as the business expands making the organization's structure tall.
Advantages of a tall structure
There are many benefits of a tall organisational structure.
A very close supervisory control exists in a tall structure.
it is also a more authoritative structure as the results , roles and duties are well defined.
the responsible person within airline is responsible to higher authority, so errors are fewer and
considered decisions are taken at all times.
