Emirates
Emirate Group provides a friendly working atmosphere with high customer satisfaction and
profits. It is a people's organization so it has good HRM policies and the organization knows how
to cope with a multi-cultural workforce.
Emirates has a functional structure.
Emirates focuses on creating units that conduct specialized activities that are highly productive
and precise. The advantage is that a large number of homogeneous airline services at the lowest
possible cost and the fastest possible speed can be given. The disadvantage to this arrangement is
that with minimal coordination through units of Emirate Group, each division is usually
autonomous. However, the functional structure has proved to be successful for Emirate since
Emirate is a large with about 50 subsidiaries.
For the first 11 months of 2019-20, Emirates and dnata performed strongly, and were on track to deliver
against our business targets. However, from mid-February things changed rapidly as the COVID-19 pandemic
swept across the world, causing a sudden and tremendous drop in demand for international air travel as
countries closed their borders and imposed stringent travel restrictions.
