Plot:

Exposition- Mary Lennox is a young girl who returns to England from India, she has a trauma by losing both her parents
in a cholera epidemic. However, her memories of her parents are not pleasant, as they were a selfish, neglectful and
pleasure-seeking couple. Mary is given to the care of her uncle Archibald Craven, whom she has never met. She travels to
his home, Misselthwaite Manor located in the gloomy Yorkshire, a vast change from the sunny and warm climate she was
used to.

Complication- When she arrives, she is a rude, stubborn and given to stormy temper tantrums. However, her nature
undergoes a gradual transformation when she learns of the tragedies that have befallen her strict and disciplinarian uncle
whom she earlier feared and despised.

Climax- Once when he's away from home, Mary discovers a charming walled garden which is always kept locked. Later
on a boy named Dickon help her to improve the garden. The mystery deepens when she hears sounds of sobbing from
somewhere within her uncle's vast mansion. The servants ignore her queries or pretend they haven’t heard, made Mary's
curiosity grow.

Denouement- One night Mary roams around the house to see where the sobbing comes from, and then she discovers that
there is a child that is being locked in the room because he is disable. His name is Colin Craven the son of her uncle
Archibald Craven which she discovers that he is just like her, a spoiled child.

Resolution- Time past by they become friends and then at first Mary will bring Colin some information about what she
and Dickon were doing in the garden, after some days they decided that Colin himself should go at the garden that was
owned by his mother in the past when she was still alive.
If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden. Mary always felt that however many
years she lived she should never forget that first morning when her garden began to grow. After reading this short story I
have realized many things, one of this is we are a garden, a beautiful garden that is hidden and is locked. We can still be
open and be discovered through people who cared for us.

Mary Lennox was a young girl who does not have parents because they died due to cholera epidemic. Her uncle
took over her after her parents died after a few days living with her uncle she discover a garden that was former owned by
his uncle wife when she was still alive. Days past she met Dickon the brother of her nurse Martha and they become friend
and he helps her in the garden. Also the son of her Uncle which is Colin become her friend after many tantrums and
spoiled doing that Colin has done. Every time she goes to Colin she always inform him what happen in the garden and
what she and Dickon were after. As for me I love the flow of the story because it started as Mary a spoiled child to Mary
a kind and hardworking child. One of the things that Mary has change because of her attitude she become more careful of
what she says to her nurse than before when she was still in India. Another is she become friendly to other people unlike
when she was still in her original house that she just lock herself in a room.

When I was reading the book I felt the excitement to finish it immediately to know what would happen to Mary
and what would be the garden looks like after of what she have done. Also I love how the author made the characters
image like how she made Mary into a good child from a spoiled child. When I read that the son of Mary’s Uncle, Colin
was unable to walk or he has a low immunity and he cannot get up in his bed I felt the sadness of Mary in the story. The
author has a good emotional writing or he is good at writing the characters emotion that even though I am just reading I
can feel what the characters feel. The author also gives a clue of what will happen next in the story that it give me the
excitement to read more. And the book cover was showing or portraying the garden already that it also was beautiful
because it was full of green color that is why it is good to look at. At the end of the book or after reading the book I
wanted to have a part2 of the story or a sequel because I still wanted to know what will happen to Mary and Colin when
they grew up, I also wanted to know what will happen to Dickon.

The main point of the story is people can change however badly he/she from the past. That even though he/she
have done many bad things and have hurt may people emotion they can still change trough the help of good people.
Everything can change through hard work. Nothing last forever just like Mary and Colin attitude, they never last forever
because they have change into a better person and into better children. Even though Mary has grown up as a spoiled child
because her parents are selfish and just give whatever Mary like still she change with the help of Martha and other people
at the house of her Uncle. Also I would like to recommend this book to anyone who likes gardening and also those who
love reading moral books. Some of the parts of the book are sad and still it is an important part of the story. So even a
big, wide and ugly garden that is already full of grass can be a beautiful and lovely garden if the people will work hard
and has a patient to make it beautiful just like Mary.
