How to set Cohort Themes in Moodle 3.5

We had shared a document “CUSTOM THEME SETTINGS” earlier, which provides the steps to be
taken for setting user level theme, Course Theme and category level theme in Moodle. Now
there is an additional feature for selecting cohort level theme.

With the release of Moodle 3.5, many new features and functionalities were introduced to
Moodle and One of such feature is an option for using cohort themes.

What is a cohort theme?

Cohort theme is the theme which can be selected by the admin/course creator for a cohort
specifically. Now users in same cohort can experience the same theme irregardless of the main
theme of the LMS.

How to enable Cohort theme?

The ‘Theme settings’ page of Site administration includes an ‘Allow cohort themes’ option,
disabled by default. When enabled, the theme will be available in cohort settings. If cohort
themes have been enabled, then a specific cohort theme may be selected when creating or
editing the cohort.

You can use any cohort theme you want just by selecting a theme from the ‘Force Theme’
option.
