Jona: When educators have strong beliefs about how things should be in a perfect

world. The working day starts with a deficit rather than the way we think it should be.

We have here a very prolific and generous guest for today's episode of JonaTalks. She

is a very profound woman because despite of the hardships she manages to pursue her

studies and of course knowing the experience of having a child with special needs. Les

us all welcome Miss. Daisy Marie M. Chavez.

Daisy: Hello everyone is nice to be here.

Jona: It’s also nice to have you as our guest for today. By the way home is your kid?

Daisy: Uhm, actually my kid is now doing great and as an educator and a mother it is

my responsibility to guide him and also for those students who need my help.

Jona: Oh. That's an impressive work of you. Well we couldn't agree no more. Each

employee has their own set of values and beliefs. Even though we share the ideas we

may have different views of what they implied. These becomes a problem if the values

is enforced to at work differ from our own or those of the community. It can also have

an impact on how schools team work. I have here sets of areas for professional

discussion and the development of agreed norms and of what understanding could be. I

have six topics and I'll be getting your respected sentiments. Are you ready?

Daisy: Yes, of course I am.

Jona: Alright. What are your thoughts about the beliefs and values on learner's having

disabilities, the student voice, the interaction between families and organization, the

language sharing storage of documentation, the behavior management, and the

teaching method and assessments.

Daisy: The general principal of special education is that all people regardless of their

specific limitations have the ability to learn. The trend in public education is to

mainstream special education children in ordinary classrooms for at least part of the

game. Rather than isolating them in separate classrooms. The goal of special education

is to help kids to reach their maximum potential by providing them with a free suitable

public education that is tailored to their specific requirements. Students voice, is about

acting and participating in their schools, communities, and educational system.

Contributing to the decision making processes. And collectively affecting outcomes by

expressing their concerns, thoughts and viewpoints. For your students’ development

good two-way communication between families and school is essential not surprisingly

research suggest that the more relevant information about the students that parents

and teachers can communicate the more position both are to assist that Student

succeed academically. Furthermore, by having more contact by their parents’ instructor

gain a great understanding of their students and home environments. Which they can

use to better satisfy those needs. Parents that participates have more positive attitude

about teachers which improves teachers’ morale. The teachers’ principal responsibility is

to create conditions and activities that allow students to practice their language in a

meaningful environment. In a second language classroom the teacher serves the,

facilitator, resource person, and language model. Teachers are responsible for keeping

each students’ information private and only sharing it with those who need to know

such as parents, other teachers, and administrators. Finally, by implementing clear

security standards in their classroom. Teachers can keep students’ data secure and

confidential. Many special education kids have behavior intervention program in place to

assist them in controlling their actions build those behavior plans around the skills and

interest of the student so that they are more effective in limiting undesirable habits.

You may use your strength and engage your pupils as well as focused on your strength.

When possible a teacher can provide a spoken teaching for kids with reading problems,

conduct frequent progress checks for learning impaired students, provide fast feedback

to learning impaired children and keep activities concise and brief.

Jona: That's it, thank you again Miss. Daisy Marie M. Chavez for sharing your thoughts

of what entails special education. So it is not to argue guys that the spectrum of reality

can coexist for workable sets of norms, values, and beliefs are developed. Hope you

guys gain something for today. See again for the next video.

Jona & Daisy: Bye!
