Dinverter A Upgrade Solution

What is a Dinverter A?
The Dinverter A was a digital AC motor speed control manufactured
by Control Techniques. It was available in several models that could
control a three-phase motor from 1/3 to 1HP. The input was single-
phase 200 to 240VAC +/- 10%.

What replaces the Dinverter A?

The Unidrive M100 and M200 open loop inverter is the replacement for the Dinverter A. Be
advised that physical sizes between Dinverter A and the Unidrive M series of drives are
different and will require installation planning. There is also a major difference in parameters
and terminal configuration between Dinverter A and Unidrive M series. Dinverter A had
negative logic control whereas Unidrive M100 and M200 is positive logic.

If you still require negative logic for start/stop logic then please contact
Technical Support for the application note on negative logic for hardware and parameter changes needed.

 Which Unidrive M Model Do I Select?
Dinverter A series did not have communications as an option. If the system is being upgraded to
uses a communications method (Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet) then the M200 series will be needed and
will require the frame size 2 model and matching module. Otherwise, the frame size 1 can be used with AI-
485-ADAPTER for RJ-485 modbus communication.

Which Unidrive M is needed?

M100 M200
If you require any communications methods.

(This requires a drive frame size 2 model)
If a remote keypad required.
Requires REMOTE-KEPYAD and SP-LCD-485-XXX cable 
If you need additional digital I/O or a relay. 
If you need to backup parameters.
 

Requires AI-485-ADAPTER and CT-COMMS-CABLE
Option 2: Using a SD Card:

Requires AI-BACKUP-ADAPTER
