JOB DESCRIPTION OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNICIANS

1. Functions and Duties of Agricultural Technicians (Crop Production):


RICE PROGRAM
AT In-Charge: Leah L. Valiente/Jerome Y. Lagata
1.1. Should establish and maintain a barangay office as contact point with the following
information/resource materials:\
A. Barangay Map
B. Farm Map
C. Barangay Profile
D. Locator Board
E. Resource materials for farmers, women and youth.
F. Field Notebook
G. Logbook
H. Display and Information corner on projects/activities
1.2. Should organize barangay planning committee for the preparation of barangay
development plan taking into consideration among others, the food balance sheet and
nutritional status in the barangay.
1.3. Should conduct practical farm family classes two times a month, functionalize to the
calendar of farm and home activities.
1.4. Should establish and maintain demonstration projects such as-
A. Demonstration Farm: (5method demonstration and 5 result demonstration)
B. Guided Home, 5 per Agricultural Technologist
1.5. Aspire to nominate a contestant in the DA search for outstanding farmers/fisherman/farm
family.
1.6. Should assist in the organization of farm families to address their felt needs and problem.
Examples of these organization are Farmers Association (FA), Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and
4-H Club which will eventually be members of BAFC.
1.7. Should establish and maintain linkage with GOs and NGOs for technical assistance and to
facilitate resolutions of problems.
1.8. Should keep at least with recent development regarding agriculture and related fields
through readings, subscriptions of magazines, journal, etc. memberships in organizations and
attendance to seminars, trainings, workshops and symposia, that will lead to
professional/cultural growth.
1.9. Purchase & Distribution of certified & hybrid seeds.
1.10. Conduct Farmer Field School on Rice.
1.11. Conduct techno demonstration on rice.
1.12. Organize Rice Association.

ORGANIC AGRICULTURE PROGRAM

6.1. Should establish and maintain a barangay office as contact point with the following

D. Locator Board
E. Resource materials for farmers, women and youth.

H. Display and Information corner on projects/activities

7. Functions, Duties, and Powers of CRM Officer.
The CRM Section shall have the following functions, duties and responsibilities:
A. Formulate measures for the approval of the Municipal mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan, as
the case maybe, in carrying out measures to ensure the delivery of basic services and provide
adequate facilities relative to environment and natural resources, particularly on coastal
resources management and fisheries services.
B. Develop plans and strategies upon the approval thereof by the Municipal Mayor and the
Sangguniang Bayan, as the case maybe, and implement at the same, particularly those which
have to do with the coastal resources management and fisheries programs and project which
the Municipal Mayor is empowered to implement and which the Sangguniang Bayan is
empowered to provide.
C. Ensure the maximum assistance and access to resources in the sustainable management and
use of the environment and natural resources, particularly on coastal and fishery resources;
D. Enforce rules and regulations relating to environment and natural resources, particularly on
coastal resources and fishery management.
E. Coordinate with government agencies and non-governmental organizations which promote
sustainable management of the environment and the natural resources, particularly on coastal
and fishery resources.
F. Be in frontline of the delivery of basic services, particularly those needed for the survival of
the inhabitants during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters and calamities.
G. Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be
prescribed by law and ordinance.
