 TYPES OF SANITARY FIXTURES

THE FOLLOWING FITTING ARE COMMONLY USED IN BUILDING , FOR EFFICIENT

COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF WASTE WATER TO THE HOUSE DRAIN

1.WASH BASINS
2.BATH TUBS
3.WATER CLOSET
4.URINALS
5.SHOWER
as per Indian Standards IS 1172 : 1993
For major design
the strength of students can be considered 24*5= 120
out of whic 5*5 are girls (average)
so girls strength= 25-30
and
boys strength =90-100

as per table 10 of IS 1172 : 1993

Water-closets 3 (for boys toilet) and 1 (for girls toilet)

Ablution taps 4(as 1 should be there in each wc)

Urinals 5

Cleaner’s sinks 1 per floor (so its value may vary)

Wash basms 2 ( for boys toilet) and) 2 for girls tolet

Drinking water fountains

For major design
the strength of teaching male staff= 15 approx(considering 5 years ) and female teaching staff = 7-8 can be considered

as per table 3 of IS 1172 : 1993

the strength of visting students as per serving =40 at a time , considering extra also =45
so girls strength= 25-30
and
boys strength =90-100

as per table 9 of IS 1172 : 1993
