Product Description
High-grade levelling mortar, applicable on interior and exterior surfaces. Capatect Levelling Plaster is pre-mixed cementitious
mortar for adjusting wall unevenness as well for treatment of partial defects. Suitable for concrete, precast concrete and
cement plastering substrates. The material it´s suitable for 3-12mm thickness per layer (maximum 3 layers approx. 36 mm).
Capatect Levelling Plaster need to be treated with an recommended primer coat before painting. If required the plaster can
then be smoothened with an recommended filler coat - CapaStucco, CapaFilex or Caparol Spray Plaster FinishCoat. Then
the surface can be painted or cover with other decorative materials. Capatect Levelling Plaster can be left bare for interior
use. On external walls an additional paint finish system is obligatory after curing.
Suitable Substrates
Concrete, Precast and cast in-situ concrete
Conventional cement plaster or concrete plaster
Fiber-cement board or wood-cement board
Bricks or concrete blocks
The substrate must be even, clean, dry, solid, sound/stable, adherent, and free from all substances that may prevent good
adhesion. Do not add any other materials.
Recommendations
• Do not apply on cracks and joints that subject to movement
• Do not apply on AAC blocks or gypsum plasters
• For exterior use, the areas should be painted or covered with suitable cover material
Advantages
Non-combustible and ecologically compatible
Weather-proof if coated
Perfectly cover small hairline cracks, bubbles and roughness
High fresh mortar stability while applying
Smooth, easy application
Good bonding and dustless

Storage
Store in a dry and from moisture protected area, cool, frost-free and protected against exposure to direct sunlight. Shelf life:
Approx. 12 months in tightly closed, original packaging.
Substrate Preparation
Masonry, concrete etc. must be clean, dry, adherent, sound, solid, stable, and free from all Substances, which may prevent
good adhesion, e.g. formwork oil. Remove mortar burrs and all unsound, flaking/peeling off existing paints and textured
renders/plasters. Chip off all render/plaster areas showing cavities (local separation) and repair to match the surrounding
surface. Clean highly absorbent, sanding or chalking surfaces thoroughly up to the solid substrate level. Render/plaster
surfaces showing cracks can only be treated in a safe way, when further crack movement can be excluded without fail.
If necessary pre-water the surface prior to applying Capatect Levelling Plaster, therefor carefully rinse all the surfaces to be
treated and pre-water with clean water. Pre-water several times so that the surfaces are thoroughly saturated. When
Capatect Levelling Plaster is applied, the surface should be damp but not wet.
Mask windowsills and attached parts. Cover glass, ceramics, clinker, natural stone, varnished and anodised surfaces
thoroughly.
Preparation of Material
Capatect Levelling Plaster is applicable with all common types of flow mixers, spiral pumps and plaster machines. For manual
preparation add approx. 5 - 5.5 litres cold tap water - as required per 25 kg bag - into the mortar bucket. Pour the mortar
premix into the bucket while stirring thoroughly with a suitable low-speed (< 500 rpm) electric agitator until the mixture is
free of lumps. Or hand-mixed properly with trowel until homogeneous lump-free paste is obtained. Leave to stand for approx.
5 minutes, and then stir again. If necessary, adjust to working consistency with a small amount of tap water. Do not prepare
more mortar then can be applied within 2 hours. Depending on weather conditions, pot life for manually mixed material is
approx. 2 hours. Maximum life in the hose for mechanic conveyance: 60 minutes. Already hardened (slightly stiff) material
must not be made pliable by adding water and cannot be used.
Method of Application
Application method: Manually or by machine (an appropriate in-line mixer has to be used in order to supply the material
properly) and subsequent trowelling in a thickness of at least 3 mm, with maximum of 12 mm per layer. Sufficient bonding
to the substrate must be attainable.
Pre-water or prime the substrate with a suitable Caparol Primer at first where necessary, depending on the substrate
condition, absorbency and weather conditions during application. Capatect Levelling Plaster can be applied manually by
plastering trowel. Capatect Levelling Plaster as well can be spray applied by using a circular motion with the spray nozzle held
at a 90° angle to the substrate. The distance between the spray nozzle and the surface will depend on the spray gun /
compressed air used. The material is then levelled with a suitable plastering trowel. This operation increases the adhesion to
the substrate.
For areas in excess of 12 mm and up to maximum of 36 mm, apply in consecutive layers not exceeding 12 mm in thickness,
leaving at least 4 hours between coats. Surfaces should be scratched to ensure good bonding with succeeding layers.
After the application with plastering trowel, leave the area to be half dry and then lightly rub with sponge in circular
movements. Where required smooth the material with a wet sponge trowel during the stiffening process.
Curing
The plaster/render should be kept moist by curing 4 – 5 times a day with a gentle spray of clean potable water for 3 days.
Please note: Fine shrinkage cracks of smoothed surfaces, due to binder accumulation (forming a sintered layer), cannot be
excluded. This is no deficiency and does not entitle for any claims.

Application Temperature
Processing temperature should be within +5 °C to +40 °C during application and curing for product, substrate and ambient
air. Do not apply on sun heated substrates, during strong wind, fog or rain, high relative humidity or imminent rain and frost.
Tool Cleaning
Clean tools/equipment with water, immediately after use.
Advice
Cover the scaffolding with tarpaulins during the curing phase, if necessary to protect the surface against heat, dust and rain.
Example for Machine Equipment
Strictly follow spray, pump & mix equipment manufacturer instructions!
Reference values:
Hoses: Primary hoses, interior Ø 35 mm, 13.3 m each; end hose, interior Ø 25 mm, 10.0 m
Max. Delivery Range: Approx. 50 m (should be optimised depending on the conditions on site and temperature)
Electric Supply: 400 V rotary current / 16 A (building current distributor with FI-protection switch)
Water Supply: 3/4" hose, minimum 2.5 bar water pressure is required for the running machine

Note: Rinse hoses prior to regular application with lime slurry or lime paste.
Disposal
Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local
authorities. Attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site
procedures.
