 Opening and closing the vehicle
With convenience key, you can lock and
unlock your vehicle without using the
remote control key. You only need to
carry the remote control key with you.
Unlocking the vehicle:
Grasp one of the door handles or the handle

Locking the vehicle:
Place the selector lever in the P position.
Press the lock button O on one of the door
handles.
( Opening the rear lid:
Press the [ •• ] button on the remote control
key or pull the (@-$, release button inside
of the driver's door.
&_ WARNING
When you leave the vehicle, always remove the
ignition key and take it with you. This will prevent
passengers (children, for example) from
accidentally being locked in the vehicle should
they accidentally press the power locking switch
in the front doors.
&_ WARNING
When you lock your vehicle from the
outside, do not leave anyone · espe-
cially children - inside the vehicle.
Remember, when you lock the vehicle
from the outside the windows cannot
be opened from the inside.

Always ensure that no one is within
range of the rear lid when it is moving,
in particular close to the hinges ·
fingers or hands can be pinched .
Starting the engine
Convenience key:
You can switch on the ignition and start/stop the engine
using the START/STOP button without having the key
inserted in the ignition lock.
Switching the ignition on and off:
Insert the key into the ignition lock.
Manual transmission: Do not depress the clutch.
Press on the key.
Automatic transmission: Do not depress the brake pedal.
Press on the key.
The key can only be removed
when the ignition is switched off.
Starting the engine:
Insert the key into the ignition lock.
Manual transmission: Depress the
clutch and engage Neutral.
Automatic transmission: Depress the
brake pedal and move the selector lever into P or N.
Briefly press on the key.
Stopping the engine when the vehicle is standing:
Automatic transmission: Move the selector lever into P or N.
Briefly press on the key.

Roll the left menu thumbwheel to mark a menu item
in the driver information system. Press the thumbwheel
to confirm the menu item.
Press the MODE button to switch between the active
radio source, navigation system, and telephone.
Press the ~ button briefly to switch voice
commands on.
For example, after the <Beep>, say <Help> to call up the
system announcement with the possible speech \
commands. Hold the Talk button down to switch voice
commands off .
Roll the right menu thumbwheel to control the volume.
Press the right thumbwheel to repeat the last navigation
announcement.
