■ Overview battery consumption to reduce site visits.
• Integrated data logger for monitoring of water consumption
and operation conditions. Selectable alarm level for too high
or too low consumption.
• Easy to integrate in a system. MAG 8000W has 2 integrated
pulse outputs and an open “add-on” communication platform
to support existing and future communication platforms. Indi-
vidual configuration of free scalable pulse outputs and net
pulse (based on bi-directional flow calculation).
• Easy set up and documentation of settings. PC Flow Tool Con-
figuration Software for easy set up and meter service. Easy
data download enables same setting of all MAG 8000W
meters installed. Password protection against unauthorized
use of parameters.
4 • No corrosion problems. The build-in standard IrDA interface
ensures problem-free on-site communication. The special
meter coating optimises the resistance against aggressive
media.
• Complies with approvals and standards. WRc drinking water

■ Benefits
MAG 8000W has been developed for water applications to opti-
mize water supply and correct billing.
Benefits for all applications:
• Flexible power supply makes it easy to install MAG 8000W for
leakage detection. If “no power supply” is present, the internal
or external battery pack ensures operation in typical stand
alone applications for up to 10 years of operation.
• Long-term measurement performance to rely on. Indepen-
dently of power supply MAG 8000W delivers highly accurate
and repeatable measurements of bi-directional flow.
• Build for installation everywhere. The meter enclosure is
IP68/NEMA 6P and designed for underground installation that
can be flooded.

Alarm: The alarm will follow the internal alarm status. The power consumption calculation includes flow measurement,
meter dialog (communication and display) and pulse output.
The temperature is also measured to control and adjust its influ-

&DOOXSRXWSXW 2II The internal battery pack has a nominal capacity of 33 Ah giving
a typical operation time of 6 years in a revenue application. The
nominal capacity of external battery packs is 66 Ah and the op-
eration time is limited to the lifetime of the batteries – typically

High or low temperature influence the capacity of the battery
and thereby directly influence the total operation time. The
MAG 8000W power management system includes these influ-
ences. The typical operation time of 6 years is based on only
80% battery capacity and an operation time/temperature profile
of 5% @ 0 °C/32 °F, 80% @ 15 °C/59 °F and 15% @ 50 °C/122 °F.
