COMPARISON (SO SÁNH)

I. So sánh hơn: 2 vật

Short Adj: S + V + adj + er + than + N/pronoun
Long Adj: S + V + more + adj + than + N/pronoun
Dạng khác: S + V + less + adj + than + N/pronoun. (ít hơn)
Ex: She is taller than me
This bor is more intelligent than that one.

II. So sánh nhất: từ 3 vật trở lên

Short adj: S + V + the + adj + est + N/pronoun
Long adj: S + V + the most + adj + N/pronoun.
Dạng khác: S + V + the least + adj + N/pronoun (ít nhất)
Ex: She is the tallest girl in the village.
He is the most gellant boy in class.

III. So sánh bằng

S + V + as + adj/adv + as + N/pronoun
S + V + not + so/as + adj/adv + N/Pronoun
Ex: She is as stupid as I/me
This boy is as tall as that one 1. smaller 2. bigger 3. Smaller
(Không lặp lại từ đã dùng ở chủ ngữ)
4. smallest 5. biggest
Population of Ho Chi Minh city isn’t as much as that of Bangkok.

IV. Một số trường hợp đặc biệt của tính từ

1. Tính từ kết thúc bằng “y” thì chuyển “y” thành “i” và thêm er hoặc est.
Ví dụ: happy – happier/happiest.
2. Các tính từ ngắn thì áp dụng thêm er/est. Đối với tính từ dài thì dùng more hoặc the most.
Ví dụ: beautiful - more beautiful/the most beautiful.
3. Một số tính từ không tuân theo quy luật trên:
