Fragen-Katalog Arbeitgeber-Interview / List of questions of interviews with employers

These are some of the terms they are literally using. – If need be, look them up in your dictionary
They might help to ask their questions in English, still they expect you to answer in German.
- Stay formal! – NO “Du”!!! - Always “Sie”!
- Do a background research about the employer, who interviews you. They might ask you, if you know who they
are, what they do… and if YOU have questions.
- It’s understood, if your interviewer is a nursing home, your answers should go in that direction; if it is a
hospital, they go in a different direction, for example:
If a nursing home-employer asks about your preferred work, don’t say “ICU” as they have none.
If the hospital is asking the same questions, don’s say “Altenpflege”
- Know the correct terms. i.e. Germans don’t understand “OB = Gynäkologie, Delivery = Entbindungsstation, ER =
Notaufnahme, etc. …”
- prepare answers!
- Some of the following questions look alike; I mentioned them anyway, so you are prepared, even the question
sounds different, it means more or less the same

It is a lot of effort to answer all these questions. – Do not try to complete it in one day, as you might risk, to get
exhausted and the longer you work on it, the simpler your answers get. - What if they ask these questions where
you put less effort on?!? – So. work on it, day by day. Bit by bit. With breaks. Don’t give it for corrections “last
minute”. – We need time to work on it too, and you need a lot of time to practice.

Be yourself, don’t google words that you can’t pronounce; do not use complex grammar structure, that you cannot
even read properly. – Keep it simple. Be yourself. 😊

(Is the island of Mindanao locked? – You can’t go there as it is too dangerous?) They might also ask other
questions about cities or regions they heard about (Taal volcano; Bohol earthquake, Yolanda…)

19. „Ich sehe in Ihrem Lebenslauf, sie haben in der Dialyse/Intensivstation/Gynäkologie… gearbeitet?“
I can see in your CV, you worked in dialysis… [or any other department]?
…the might mention some devices you used there, treatments, procedures you did, etc.
Definition of terms:
20. Grundpflege: Haben Sie Patienten gewaschen, Essen angereicht, Körperpflege gemacht?
basic care: Did you wash patients, feed them, did body care?

36. Haben Sie schon Familie oder Bekannte in Deutschland? / Waren Sie schon einmal in Europa?

37. Wenn jemand verheiratet ist oder Kinder hat, Frage nach der Situation, z.B. ob das nicht schwer ist, jemanden
zurück zu lassen: Welche Pläne haben Sie für Ihre Familie?
(If somebody is married or has children, there might be a question about that situation, i.e. whether it is not hard
for you, to leave them behind…:) What plans do you have for your family?
Explain to them, that is totally normal in Philippines, that parents are at work, will relatives take care of their
children, so no big difference if you work abroad) – Do not mention, that you want to bring your children, spouse,
family members, etc. to Germany.

Employers might also ask very specific questions about details of certain procedures, that you are doing.
- What you are doing,
- how you do it,
- what devices and products you are using?

How to deal with this? - Start to THINK GERMAN at work!!!

While you are at work, THINK in German:
- What you are doing,
- what you are using
- what vocabs you need (to look up) in order to make them understand,
- how to express yourself correctly.
If you are not at work, just reflect some situations of your work in your vision, and do as I just said.
