Lyle and Maxine McGuire are the definition of hard working Americans.

Lyle
worked as a logger in Coos and Curry Counties for 30 years. Upon retirement, he
harvested his own timber, of which he and his loving wife replanted and managed
for 40 years. Maxine was ahead of her time, attending business college prior to
raising her four children.

Together they loved camping, hunting and traveling with their family. Their love
of the outdoors was both evident and contagious. Maxine, with her green thumb,
kept an incredible garden at their Allegany home which exemplified that spirit.

This scholarship is given in their honor with high hopes that its recipient
demonstrates the same perseverance and determination personified by Lyle and
Maxine.
