In what sense does before the Flood describe what Gardiner calls a perfect moral storm

The narrator describes three panels, one with Adam and eve that shows the serenity of

nature, with figures of birds and beautiful nature. The second panel, as he describes, shows a

time when sin infiltrated through people and as the painting shows, there were many people,

doing a lot of many unethical things. The third panel then shows a landscape that has been

destroyed and is horrifying to look at.

Civilization, although was a good thing, has been reported countless of times has led to

the climate changes we have heard. One reporter is even heard saying that it is such activities

that drove man out of the garden of Eden. But which activities are these, and how are they moral

or ethical. Well climate change, as described by Gardiner, is not a factor brought by a single

individual. It is a result of the actions of various individuals and organizations. This fact

therefore threatens and brings a challenge to humanity and how they are going to respond to the

outcomes they themselves caused.

Various environmental movements have been witnessed, with Leonardo De Caprio

urging people that the climatic catastrophic problem should not be getting worse, as they are.

They should all come together because they all caused the problem and figure out ways they

would deal with this change. This is because, as Gardiner puts it, when individual agencies or

countries try to solve this problem on their own, they will act upon their own interests,

undermining the overall goal. Every agency and country should come together to make the

change effective. However, people love doing things their own way, agencies and countries love

overriding the wishes and rule of others just because they have their own power. This nature of

humans is what brings out the moral and ethical dilemma.

To understand how to solve this climate issue, we need to understand that most of the

fuel sources we use are what causes these problems. There is no such thing as a clean fossil fuel.

As much as the climate change is affecting the whole word, it is doing so at a slow rate. We are

getting news of a lot of ice melting, species going extinct and a lot of environmental issues

brought by this climate change, but these issues do not affect us all in day. Moreover, not

everyone feels the effects of these changes. For this reason, coming up with solutions and giving

this matter a priority has become a problem. Gardiner explains that the lack of an effective

system of global governance is what is contributing to the lack of a proper solution. Global

regulations are therefore hard to be established and implemented because, who is doing the

implementation?

Every successful person or every person in power is there because they worked on their

light, and, made it to where they are. They issues that they have dealt with they have done so at a

personal level, so it is only human if they focus on their own problems first before they focus on

the issues of the whole world. Unfortunately, the world depends upon such people to come with

solutions for the problems they are facing. These people, on the other hand, are part of the people

who have contributed to the continued civilizations of individuals. They are the shareholders of

the many industries and processes that emit gases wh9ch cause the global warming. Our

dependence on them to make such decisions is misplaced because they obviously have their

interests to uphold first.

Since this problem requires global agreement, the global leaders should be on the same

page. These same people have been seen and heard saying that they do not believe the scientific

deductions that human activities are what are causing these climatic changes. Various news

houses and personnel have also been seen to have arguments that Global Warming is not really a

problem as scientists paint it to be. Sometimes temperatures decrease instead of increasing as

they are meant to. Moreover, the costs and benefits of climate change have made finding the

solution a problem. Political entities have seen that the interests and profits gotten from the

current ways of finding energy are more than the costs that will be incurred in dealing with this

problem.

We are living in an exploitive generation, with increasing manufacturing and processing

industries. This industries have their toxicity and their wastes, which we all ignore once the

profits are in the picture. Movements have been done by the public but their outcomes just fade

with time. Those in control have the control even in this climatic moral dilemma. The proofs we

have seen in the news have done nothing in phasing these individuals or threatening their ability

to behave ethically, clearly showing that this climate change is a moral storm.
