In Politics a Constitution can be described as a document outlining the basic laws or principles by which
a country is to be governed.

Q:-Write a brief note on the making of the Indian Constitution.

Solution:

The Indian Constitutional Assembly was convened in December 1946. The members of this Assembly
were only Indians. This Assembly started drafting the Constitution for Independent India. Dr. Ambedkar
was the Chairman of the Constitution drafting committee.

The constitution declares India to be a sovereign, democratic republic and establishes the structure,
procedures, powers and duties, of the government and duties of citizens.

?The 308 members of the Assembly signed two hand-written copies of the document (one each in Hindi
and English) on the January 24, 1950. Two days later, on January 26, 1950, the Constitution of India
became the law of all the Indian lands.

Ans:-In a democratic society Power can be misused. Sometimes the Majority can undermine minority.
The citizens need certain rules to save themselves from folly.

routinely available to the majority. It also prevents the domination of the majority over the minority.

The Indian constitution guarantees right to equality to all citizens. No citizens can be discriminated
against on the ground of religion ,race, caste and gender.

Article 16 of the constitution provides equality of opportunity in matters relating to public employment
or appointment to any office under the state.
Article 17 of the constitution declares untouchability and its practice in any form is forbidden and as an
offence punishable in accordance with the law.

Ans::-Universal adult franchise is every adult citizen having a right to vote irrespective of sex, caste,
creed, education and financial status.

Ans:-The legislature refers to our elected representatives.

The executive is a smaller group of people who are responsible for implementing laws and running the
government.

The judiciary refers to the system of courts in this country.

Ans:- In a democracy, laws made for the people's welfare and benefits. The people's interest is always
be taken into account. If laws do not reflect the interests of the people, then people have a right to
protest against them. Many times, such protests have brought great changes in the law that helped to
reshape a law.

Q:-Can democracy be effective without a constitution?

Ans:-The constitution play a vital role in a democratic setup. It includes within its pureview ,principles
,provisions, ideas and rules which are essentially rooted in the base tenants and prerequisites of
governance on the one hand and interest and aspiration of diverse communities which nation with a
popular state multicultural composition consists of on the other constitution is also called the soul of
democracy and the bedrock of good governance as it ensures political ,stability ,peace and maintenance
of law and order in a country.

interest and concerns of the people?

Ans:-The indian constitution serves different purposes are as follows:-

1. It lays out certain ideas or principle that determine the structure, nature and duties of the
government in our country.

2. It helps to serve as a set of rules and principles that everybody respects and abide by and principles
that everybody respects and abides by.

3. Aur constitution contains rules to prevent the domination of majority over the minority.

4. Agar constitution defines the nature of the country's political system.


5. In the constitution the power of the state and the state Central are clearly defined and there are very
clear limit for both when it comes to making laws.

Q:- Why do we need the Dowry Prohibition act?

Ans:-Dowry is a social evil in the society, that has caused unimaginable tortures and crimes towards
women.The evil has taken lives of women from all stratas of society - be it poor, middle class or the rich.
However it is the poor who succumb and fall prey to it, more due to their lack of awareness and
education.

When a bride or her family refuses to satisfy the unnecessarily demand for of her husband and in laws of
dowry .She is subjected in human treatment in extreme cases this lead to the suicide and murder of the
bride by their husbands and their families dowry prohibition act 1961 years that taking and giving dowry
is a crime it helps the father of dowry death victim in getting justice.
