Q:-1, How are natural and man made resources different from each other.

Ans:-1Natural resources are the resources that are present in nature and are not made by humans.
example- trees,mountains,oceans etc.

1.Man Made resources are the resources that are made by humans. example- road, building, bridges etc.

Q:-2. Explain potential and actual resources by giving examples.

Ans:-Actual Resources are those which have been surveyed, their quantity and quality determined and
are being used in present times. For example :-

1 The petroleum and the natural gas which is obtained from the Mumbai High Fields and West Asia

2 The rich deposits of coal in Ruhr region of Germany

3 Dark soils of the Deccan plateau in Maharashtra

Potential Resources: Potential Resources – Potential resources are resources which exist in a region and
which can be used in the future.

For example:-

1. Mineral oil may exist in many parts of India where sedimentary rocks are found but till it is actually
drilled out and put into use, it remains a potential resource.

2. The uranium found in Ladakh is potential resource that could be used in the future.

3. High speed winds were a potential resource two hundred years ago. Today they are an actual
resource and wind farms generate energy using windmills like in Netherlands, Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu
and on the Gujarat coast.

Q3. All resources whether natural or human are not evenly distributed on earth .Do you agree Give
reasons in support your answer.

Ans:-Resources are distributed in different ways and in different amounts throughout the world. Often
the result of past geologic processes such as volcanic activity or tectonic movement, this unequal
distribution means that various quantities of certain resources are only available to some people.

the distribution of minerals on earth is dependent on how and when they form. ... For minerals at the
surface, you can find things like metals in very specific places and not spread throughout the crust. This
is because metallic minerals often form as as part of a volcanic system (on land or under the ocean).
The distribution of natural resources depends upon many physical factors like land, climate and altitude.
The distribution of resources is unequal because these factors differ from place to place on this earth.

Q-4. Define non recyclable and recyclable resources give example to support your answer.

Ans:-Recyclable resources are those resources which can be used again and again. for eg: water. Non-
recyclable resources are those resources which cannot be used after it has been used once. for eg: soil,
coal etc.

Q:-5. What measures can be taken to conserve natural resources?

Ans:-There are several ways to conserve natural resources in your very own home, such as:

Use less water. ...

Turn off the lights. ...

Use renewable energy. ...

Recycle. ...

Compost. ...

Choose reusable goods. ...

Manage your thermostat. ...

Thrift shop.
