media

We undestand social media to be a series of structures created on theinternet that can be

used and managed by anyone with a technological device and an internet connection. We
deine social media as a current mechanism of comunication between known or unknown
people that we find in these. But just as we define them in a very superficial way, we are
not very aware of the advantages and disadvantages social media has. On the

a personal environment, in a business environment and in an educational environment. And
each of these with a bad use can bring us a series of problems; looking at it from a personal
point of view, when we do not have a good management we run into disadvantages such as
addiction to social media, disconnection from the real world, privacy at risk or suffer from
any kind of sexual abuse. From the business environment we run into 'affectations such as
poor management of comments in a crisis, economic investments (if not made with the
appropriate security and commitment) and computer attacks. Finally we come to the
educational environment, which, when poorly managed, brings us some disadvantages,
such as loss of attention, reduction of personal relationships and providing personal
information on educational platforms.

There are many more advantages that brings the use of social media, but these are linked to
the management that is given to them, it is not logical to claim a good use if we ourselves
do not give a good use; previously mentioned the disadvantages that brings the misuse of
social media, in three different areas, but what better way to contextualize people with the
good use of social media, with the advantages they bring to the daily life of a person.
Returning to the three areas discussed, let's talk about the advantages that social media
bring in the personal area, although the disadvantages have already been expressed, there
are many more advantages that they promote, such as the fact that it is a channel to obtain
diverse information, source of knowledge and learning, source of entertainment, source of
opportunity and search for work, connection with different people, instant communication,
etc. Given that nowadays most of the ventures are developed in social media, it is important
to have a brand reputation, brand visibility, loyalty, a customer service channel and
influence the sales process and this is something that gives us the advantages of social
media in this area. Finally the advantages provided by social media to education are the
promotion of participation, motivation and facilities for the student, promotion of
autonomy, collaborative learning, etc.
