Teaching Music in the Elementary Grades


Answer the following question:
1. How does music originated?
 Our early ancestors may have created rhythmic music by clapping their
hands. Also, the simple sound of the waves, the chirping of birds in the
sky, and the sound of the leaves rustling in the forest. By them forming
music especially when the sounds audible are weak, slow, loud, or fast.
2. Why is music called the ancient of all arts?
 Music is everywhere to be heard. Through this many are more able to
express their emotions. Music has been an important adjunct
to ritual and drama and has been credited with the capacity to reflect and
influence human emotion.
3. How did music play a great part in the drama of life?
 Music serves to calm our minds. Music arose and persists that it brings
people together. Music leads to bonding, such as bonding between
mother and child or bonding between groups. Music keeps workers happy
when doing repetitive and otherwise boring work, and helps everyone to
move together, increasing the force of their work. Through music we were
able to communicate with others.
