Purpose of Music

M
usic's purpose is to express and modulate emotions. We use it to soothe, psych up,
woo, enrage, sadden and cheer each other, or ourselves. Music is an especially
important tool for bonding with and caring for infants. ... In preliterate societies,
music was also essential as a mnemonic device.

There are Three main purpose of Music. And the purposes which music serves.

1. Personal entertainment:

Music is directly related with the emotions. Every Person has its own flavor in
music. So, every person loves to listen music according to his own taste. So, It’s a
personal entertainment for Everyone.

2. Communal Entertainment:

Though Music we can communicate. We can share our feelings to others. We can
make a person think that we are happy or sad. So, it is also serve as a Purpose of Music.
Music also affects the people of the community or the people of the surroundings. If a
culture of country is different the music will be according to their culture.

3. Social Entertainment:

There is social adhesiveness. It means, it keeps the people together and connects
the people. Music does not bonded families but also bonded societies. It explains the
power of Music.

What is the purpose Music Survive the Most?

T
he Survival of the music is started step by step. In the beginning people feel the music
through the nature. When music started people start identifying sounds of the nature
for example: Sound of water, wind, birds etc. After that people start felt the pitches of
the sounds and they start enjoying these sounds according to their emotions. They identify their
vocals. They found that their vocals can sound in different pitches. So, they made acoustic
instrument like they took wood and try to make the instrument. According to me Music is
something which touches the emotions and serve the purpose. For example, if a person is in
worry or is in tension he usually listens sad songs, if a person is very happy he must listen the
joyful or may be hard rock songs. As music is discovered from Homoneanendrathal. (3.8 Billion
years ago) they definitely had discovered music from the sounds of the nature. They created the
music by using the natural resources of the nature. For example, wood. But the use rhythm was
inside their body because rhythm is something which is an inborn ability. So, they organize these
sounds and put these sounds in their perfect places and then they use the rhythm to precede the
sounds. According to my imagination the music created and discovered by using the intelligence
and by feeling the emotions which comes through nature and touches the human. But the music
is different for everyone. Every person has its own thinking about music. So, it can be defined in
different ways. But its subjective definition is “Sounds that conveys an emotion and serves them
a purpose”.

So, with the different era Music Changes It’s Shape and people makes the music in more
organized way but overall it survives. And the people accept the music.
