ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN ON TURBINE DURING UNIT TRIP.

1) Unit trip to barring speed time to be noted, if higher than normal, problem to be
analysed.
2) Condenser Vaccum to be noted while engaging barring gear.
3) On turbine trip close oil line vales to Governing, LTV & RTV.
4) Prior to rolling reset the turbine and then open the governing valve oil valves
checking that barring gear is not disengaged (if barring gear disengages than
problem to be discussed).
5) Then open the LTV & RTV oil line valves gradually by observing turbine
speed. In case any speed rising observed, immediately close the valves, trip the
turbine and the problem to be analysed.
6) Whenever unit trips, if turbine speed not getting reduced as per the observed
values on normal coasting down (due to passing of throttle valves) closes the
main steam stop valve.
