 Also known as the NSTP Act of 2001
signed into law on January 23, 2002 by
Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

 Aims to encourage the youth to become


civic and/or military leaders and
volunteers whom could be called upon by
the nation in cases their services are
needed.

 Section 1 -17
 Starting SY 2002-2003 all students, male
and female, of any baccalaureate degree
course or at least two-year technical-
vocational courses in public and private
educational institutions, shall be required
to complete one of the NSTP
components as requisite for graduation.

NSTP:
 Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
 geared towards social activities that could
contribute to “health, education,
environment, entrepreneurship, safety,
recreation and morals of the citizenry”.

NSTP:
 Literacy Training Service (LTS)

 trains the students to teach literacy and


numeracy skills to school children, out-of-
school youths and other segments of
society in need of their services.

NSTP:
 Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC)

 institutionalized under Sections 38 and 39


of RA No. 7077.

 provides military training to students in


order to motivate, train, organize, and
mobilize them for national defense
preparedness.

 Goal of the law and of the program:


 To harness the strength and capacity of
the youth to contribute to nation-building.
 National Service Reserve Force - for
CWTS and LTS graduates.
 Citizen Armed Force - for ROTC
graduates.
 Utilize the student volunteers of the
reserve force, if necessary.
