Part 1 : reading datasheet (DONE)

Part 2: Design a free running multivibrator for frequency and duty

cycle 4KHz , 70% respectively.

Calculation..

We know,
Frequency = 1.44/(RA+2RB)C
And output waveform duty cycle = 1 – (RB/RA+2RB)

First we will find the value of RA and RB by substituting value of 1/(RA + 2 RB)
from the formula of output waveform duty cycle to the frequency.

C*F/(1.44) = 1/(RA+2RB)
Substituting in duty cycle formula we get,
Duty cycle = 1 – [(RB * CF)/1.44] [Duty cycle = 0.7 ,
Frequency = 4KHz]
So we get C*RB = 0.108.

By looking into the pdf given we find standard value of capacitor and RB,
We get
C = 0.022 microfarad
RB = 4.7Kohm

Now , we find value of RA by putting all the values in duty cycle formula,
We get RA = 6.2kohm (exact value is found in the pdf provided)

Simulation
Now we verify our simulation results 😊

We know ,
Duty cycle = th/(th+tl) [ where th = high level duration of output
tl = low level duration ]
So we got th = 166.39 mu second
tl = 72.08 mu sec

so duty cycle = 0.69.

and frequency in simulation is

Conclusion:

Expected Frequency = 4KHz

Simulated Frequency = 4.1 KHz

Expected Duty cycle = 70%

Simulated Duty cycle = 69%
Part 3 : Design a monostable multivibrator with (Positive egde triggered
and 1ms pulse width)

Calculation..

We know,
Pulse duration tw = 1.1 x RA x C

So by considering RA = 9.1kohm and C= 0.1 mu farad from standard

values datasheet I approximately get tw = 1.001 ms which can be
considered as 1 ms (approx.)

Circuital diagram:

Simulation:
Conclusion:

Expected Pulse width = 1 ms

Simulated Pulse width = 1.004 ms
