Who is Disciple Peter?

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

Matthew 26:31-35

31
Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is
written:
“‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’[a]
32
But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
33
Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”
34
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will
disown me three times.”
35
But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the
other disciples said the same.

Peter Denies Jesus

Luke 22:54-62

54 Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house, and Peter
was following at a distance.

55 And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together,
Peter sat down among them.

56 Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This
man also was with him.”

57 But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”

58 And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter
said, “Man, I am not.”

59 And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also
was with him, for he too is a Galilean.”

60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while
he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.

61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord,
how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”

62 And he went out and wept bitterly.

Jesus Has Risen

Mark 16:1-8

16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome
bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the
week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who
will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4
But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled
away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the
right side, and they were alarmed.

6
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He
has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and
Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”

8
Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to
anyone, because they were afraid.

Who is MOSES?

Moses Flees to Midian

Exodus 2:11-17

11
One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched
them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own
people. 12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in
the sand. 13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the
wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”
14
The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as
you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become
known.”

15
When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to
live in Midian, where he sat down by a well. 16 Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters,
and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock. 17 Some
shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and
watered their flock.

Moses thought he was somebody (he lived as a grandson of the Pharaoh)

Second 40 years:
