Hello Everyone!!

The coursework marks are now posted on the Course Page. The record indicates that approximately
57% of the class got a grade ranging from 19.5% to 39.3% out of the possible 40%. This means that
approximately 43% of the class is going into the final examination with a failing grade. In absolute
figures, 552 of the 1,281 persons who sat the exam are struggling with the course. This is no consolation
to us as course presenters, as we went beyond the call of duty to ensure that you received proper
guidance and tutelage during the contact hours that you had with us during each of the weekly lecture
sessions. In addition, each student is assigned to a tutor who conducts weekly tutorial sessions. You
were provided with several practice questions, including past paper questions. The link to a video on
my YouTube Channel which spoke to the most comprehensive past paper question given (Fuller
Institute) was provided so you could check the correctness of your answer. Based on the responses
submitted by some individuals to the structured question, we are also convinced that many of the
failures are due to non-attendance at lectures & tutorials. There were persons who did not even know
how to journalize a transaction. Having said all of that, this is now, “water under the bridge”. The final
examination is upon us and we have another 60% to bat for, so getting an overall passing grade is not
impossible. If you failed, it means that there are concepts that you are not clear on, hence you NEED to
attend lectures! The pitch is ready, the field is set, the question is, are you ALL ready to face the bowler?
This is a question for even the individual who is going in with almost 40%! Whether you are in the 57%
or the 43%, you cannot afford to be complacent!
These last few weeks of the semester are CRUCIAL. You need to ensure that you master the
concepts dealt with after the mid-term exam, so that you will be able to face & successfully play any
delivery in the final examination– even if it is a googly! It can be done, but you MUST do your part.
Your final examination will be from Financial Assets – Bank Reconciliation, so start revising. The final
examination is a little over three weeks away!! We are committed to the task! We want you to succeed
so make sure to attend your lectures & tutorials. Make sure that you come equipped with the necessary
tools – hard copies of the work sheets, your calculators & stationery. A good work man does not
go to work without his tools! Use the rest of the week end to review adjustments. Go over Fuller
