We look forward to learning more about you as you complete our self-paced assessment process.
As a first step, we ask a few straightforward questions about your professional background and
work experience. These questions take less than 5 minutes to answer and were created by our
hiring managers to do a quick check that you have applied to the right role before you invest
more time in the actual assessments. If it looks like a good fit, we will let you know right away.
These questions also help us guide you to other roles that might be a better fit, so answer them
truthfully and accurately!
2nd level
Only pen & paper are allowed. Calculators, internet search, translation tools, and other
types of assistance are strictly prohibited.
Don’t switch tabs. Once you begin the assessment, spend the entire 15 minutes in the
assessment browser tab. Navigating away from the browser will lead to automatic
disqualification.
No penalty for incorrect answers. There is no penalty for incorrect answers, so try to
reach them all. Pay attention to the timer and answer as many of the 50 questions as you
can.
Use a laptop/desktop. If you are on a mobile device right now, we recommend you
switch to a computer before starting this assessment. The smaller screen of mobile
devices may prevent you from seeing the full questions. Please use Chrome, Firefox, or
Safari - other browsers are known to have issues with loading the test or capturing test
results.
No breaks. Ensure that you have a stable internet connection before beginning. As this is
a timed assessment, there is no way to pause and resume the assessment in the event you
are disconnected.
We recognize that this might all sound a bit intimidating if you have never taken this type of
assessment before. Don’t feel that way, just follow the directions and do your best. However, we
have had many requests over the years to offer a practice test that allows candidates to
familiarize themselves with the process before the real thing.
We now offer a complimentary practice test, identical to the real one, so you can get your jitters
out, and familiarize yourself with the test-taking experience - if you take the test and your score
isn’t above the desired proficiency, you are allowed an additional attempt.
Note: We have added this practice test partly due to an increasing number of websites out there
claiming to help you pass such cognitive assessments. They claim to give you access to practice
tests, while behind the scenes they actually steal the official test content and inadvertently help
candidates commit testing fraud by inflating scores through memorization. This is cheating and it
is wrong. We consider using these practice websites an attempt to commit fraud on your
Crossover application, and the use of any such services will lead to the rejection of your
application and the blacklisting of your account.
Finally, because some people will still opt to cheat, all candidates that receive offers will be
asked to take a proctored version of the assessment when starting with Crossover. Moral of the
story, don’t cheat and you’ll be fine!

Part 1
You will have to listen and repeat, verbatim, a series of phrases of increasing difficulty and will
be scored based on your pronunciation and the completeness of the repeated sentences. The more
precisely you speak each phrase, saying all the words in the correct order, the better your score
will be.
This assessment automatically verifies language ability. Even if you are a native or near-
native speaker, it can only measure the skill that you show. Stay focused and follow the
tips.
Part of the assessment may feel like a memory or pronunciation test. It is indeed
measuring how efficient your brain is at processing and producing complex elements of
language, so give your best effort for the duration of this short assessment.
When asked to repeat a sentence, be as accurate as possible. The assessment measures
more than just pronunciation and fluency, so sounding like a native speaker is not
enough.
Last but not least - make sure your audio recording is of good quality:
Find a quiet place - background noise negatively influences scoring. You don’t want us to
rate the English skills of your dog or a bystander Use a headset with a microphone - built-
in laptop microphones often create static or cause distortions
Speak slowly and clearly - rushing through the sentence may make your submissions
incomprehensible and lead to a low score
Use a good Internet connection - analysis is done in real-time and slow connections may
cause audio loss
Part 2
Each response is evaluated for its connection to the task, fluency, accuracy, and
vocabulary.
You will have 30 seconds to read the question and prepare a response and 60 seconds to
speak your response.
You must speak for at least 15 seconds for your answer to be complete. The more you
speak, the better our analysis can be.
Take note that this is a one-time link so once you click on Start Test you must complete the
assessment.
