Open Bridge Policy


You are most welcome to visit the Navigation Bridge on deck 5 but access may be restricted during
manoeuvres, the hours of darkness or certain weather conditions. Please respect the notice placed on the door
to the Bridge.

Internet / Wifi
Computers to access the internet are located in the Library. You do require an access card with a user name
and password available from our Reception should you wish to connect to our WiFi with your own device. As we
have become a connected society the demand for Internet has become greater, as a result of this we try to
provide the best service possible however while on-board the ship there is limited capacity for the system.
Please note that in Japan and South Korea our on-board Internet service is very limited.

Smoking Policy
The M/S Caledonian Sky offers a smoke-free environment inside. Smoking is permitted on the Deck 4 and Deck
3 aft only. Please do not throw your cigarette butts or matches overboard.

Water on Board
You can safely fill your water bottle from the water dispenser situated outside the Caledonian Lounge.

Credit Card Payments


All charges are in Sterling. If you intend to settle your shipboard account with your credit card we ask you to
pass by the Reception desk at your earliest convenience to have an imprint of your card taken. If you are
sharing a cabin with a friend and would like separate bills, please let Reception know.

Wake up calls
Please place any wake-up call with Reception before retiring.

Motion Sickness
It takes some of us a little longer to find our sea legs. Seasick tablets are available from Reception and should
be taken one hour prior to departure.

Stateroom TV
Some news channels are available for your viewing pleasure depending on our location and satellite feed.

Public Health Advisory


The UKPH has issued an advisory concerning the consumption of raw or partially cooked meats that states:
‘Consumers who order raw or partially cooked ready-to-eat foods of animal origin are informed that the food is
not cooked sufficiently to ensure its safety’.

Hygiene on board
In an effort to stop the spread of any germs, may we respectfully remind you we will be travelling together in
close confines, therefore please be courteous to your fellow guests and wash your hands regularly and use the
sanitizers which are placed around the ship.

On board Sanitary System


May we remind you that the vacuum toilet system is very sensitive. Please do not put any paper, other than
toilet paper into the system, especially face wipes and Kleenex tissues as these can block the entire system.
