Project

Search and make a refection about the article Sex Myths: “It’s The Man’s Responsibility to buy condoms”

Engaging sexual intercourse comes with great responsibilities for both men and women in a heterosexual couple.
Transfer of sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy are the possible results of doing such activities. Therefore, the
usage condoms is recommended as it is the best way to prevent unwanted pregnancies and avoid health implications.

People nowadays believe that it’s the man’s responsibility to buy condoms whenever they want to have sexual
intercourse. I strongly oppose to this sex myth because I believe that this mindset is a form of gender role bias and
stereotyping against men. How come it is only his responsibility if they both want to engage such activity? Both partners
must be required to purchase, not just the men.

As I’ve said earlier, both partners are responsible for the intercourse. Its preparation and possible results must be
obliged on both of them as they share pleasure and enjoyment during the activity. In fact, rather than promoting gender
inequalities on this sex myth, the main objective is to prevent possible hazards for both partners.
