What I Can Do

There are lots of calamities and disasters I have experienced, but one I will never
forget is the massive flooding in Cagayan wayback November 2020. We were one of
the flooded and we did not expect to be flooded at that time.
After we slept, we monitored the water level in our backyard and put our things
into safer places incase the water will still rise. We did not sleep on our 1st floor
because it might be flooded. That night, we prayed that the water would not reach us
here at home. The next day, I checked the 1st floor of the house. I was shocked and
sad because it was already flooded and some of our things floated. I woke up my
mom and sister to take a look at it. I got scared when I had to walk through the flood
to help my mom with such things. But I got brave and believed in God that he is
always on our side, protecting and keeping us safe. It is not easy to be flooded
because it can be dangerous. In the middle of it I felt tired, anxious, and stressed, but
I had to keep going to help and protect my family. We stayed home instead of
evacuating since we had a second floor. Struggle is real, especially with no electricity
and wifi. But I thank God who is always by our side, protecting and keeping us safe. I
handled that hard situation by being alert and prepared and most of all, by praying
and keeping my faith stronger in our almighty God.
