By staff reporter, July 26, New Delhi ; India on Monday upped the ante against China, announcing a ban on 59 Chinese mobile apps, including Bytedance’s TikTok, Alibaba’s UC Browser and Tencent’s WeChat, citing security concerns. The apps are “prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, the defence of India, the security of state and public order", the ministry of information technology said in a statement, which came two weeks after 20 Indian Army personnel were killed in a violent clash onthe India-China border in Ladakh. Tensions have spiralled since early May after hand-to-hand fighting between troops on Galwan Valley Ladakh. With tensions simmering, New Delhi has been mulling punitive economic steps that would hurt Chinese interests. With key countries across the world looking at moving their supply chains out of China in the aftermath of the Corona Virus pandemic, China would not like to see its trade ties with India worth an estimated $90 billion, mostly in China’s favour, affected, say analysts. TikTok has more than 200 million users in India and sees the country as one of its most important markets after China. The ministry had received several complaints from various sources on the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms that steal and “Surreptitiously” transmit user’s data in unauthorized manners to serves located outside the country. After the recent clash between Indian Chinese troops large protests were seen over the country. Citizens of India across various platforms demanding strong steps against China, And this decision by the Indian Government surely a boost up for the people of India. Even it has been said that this a “Digital Strike” of India against China. In pre-modern societies, the realms of domesticity and work were merged, with the family playing a central role in determining an individual's entry not only into an occupation, but also the public sphere. In sufficiently modernised societies such as India, this tendency remains strong. Second, traditional social norms still dictate that family comes first, " @pDewntoad From: wwwsotomin | eT a caste/clan second, and everything else, including merit, last. In India nepotism or favouritism extends beyond the family and operates along the axis of caste as well. But the theme of irregularity is conspicuously absent in the nepotism discourses. Its been preferred binary is not ‘privileged’ versus ‘non-privileged’ but ‘outsider’ versus ‘insider’, with all the outrage reserved for the insiders. Nepotism in now prevailed all sectors of society in India, Indian Politics has seen the most of nepotism in its history, despite ours being a democratic country. Nepotism is also seen at private where favouritism surpasses the talent. The dominating and powerful sectors of society use the full monty of it. Reference is now given more importance than eligibility of talent. Another field of society where nepotism is seen at its best that is film industry. Here nepotism get another name ‘Star Kid’. Talented stars often neglected to promote star kids. Here star get more chances by the name of ‘God Father’. This hierarchical domination prevailing all overs They often state that they won the place on the basis of merit and talent and not because of their family background, but this veil is too thin to not be seen through. We all can hope that like most major changes taking place in the country, this also becomes an issue that is strongly raised by all. If this nepotism goes on society would not Progress. Everyone has the right to stand a fair chances in all professional field. It will only be when the hurdles are removed that we get talented persons who take the country to new heights. The Coronavirus pandemic has shown how inadequate our funding of healthcare is. Spending just about 1.3% of our GDP on healthcare is simply not enough. And COVID-19 is thoroughly exposing our lack of attention to this critical sector. We simply don’t have enough hospital beds and the condition of public healthcare is shambolic to say the least. The Coronavirus has just delivered a sucker-punch and we better wake up. According to the National Profile (2019), there are 7,13,986 total government hospitals bed in Indian. That’s an average of 0.55 beds per 1000 population. The WHO recommendation is a minimum of 5 beds per 1000 population. Given that government Doe ae Ce) provides the bulk of healthcare services, the gap in ratio is alarming. Further, to reduce fatalities from COVID-19 we need to ensure that the worst affected patients have access to critical care and ventilator support. Idealy, public hospital should be equipped with 110,000 to 220,000 ventilators in the event that COVID-19 cares balloon. However, the total number of ventilators estimated to be with government hospitals is around 25,000 only. True in recent weeks government has been expanding the infrastructure to treat COVID-19 patients adding dedicated beds and isolation wards, setting up quarantine facilities and even using the resources of private sector hospitals. But these are emergency ad hoc measures. Therefore it need to be a paradigm shift in approach towards healthcare. It is a national security imperative. COVID-19 has shown up the huge costs of ignoring healthcare. We can not afford to be caught unawares again and must proactively invest in healthcare so that we can handle any future outbreak. © Rup kumar Mitra 21:12 0.2KB/s Z € English Report Writ..
