In case of applied nature project evaluation, what are the expectations of a reviewer funding
agency in order to decide about funding a project? (4)
Ans: The finding agency would require that the project be relevant to the industrial needs
so that the product would be of value to the industry (one mark)
In case of an innovative and quality oriented product the industrial problems would be solved
and the industry would benefit as a result of the product being rolled out. (one mark)
The funding agency would also check that the project has been documented rightly and
concrete measures have been taken to make it successful (one mark)
The cost of the project and how the funding would be sustained are also important factors
(one mark)

Should your research plan be relevant to the industry? Elaborate on the reasons by giving
any example related to your research area and what aspects would you include to make your
project innovative or application oriented? (4)
Ans: The research plan and objectives should be aligned with the industry. (one mark)
Since the latest technology developments in ICT and telecom sector have changed the level
of services so firstly my application should be according to the fifth generation and later
standards in order to facilitate according to network support (one mark) so to make it
applied side I would be looking to present according to the approach for addressing existing
problems and how my application would work in line with the network quality (one mark) I
would seek to train and develop the human resources and expertise so that my company can
respond to the changes in communication standards or processes time to time. (one mark)

In a typical project team hierarchy, what would be the responsibilities of a PI, Co PI,
Consultant and Developer? (2)
Ans:  Principal Investigator (PI) refers to the person running an independent grant and the
lead researcher for the grant project, such as a laboratory study or a research plan.

A Co-Principal Investigator is recognized by the funding agency as an individual who
along with the PI has the responsibility for the conduct of a research project, including
meeting the reporting requirements
Consultant is working on the expertise area in order to provide advice on relevant aspects
time to time.
Developer is the one who programs computers or designs the system to match the
requirements of a system operator.
