A. PARAPHRASE
Paraphrase - diễn đạt lại câu nhưng ý chính không đổi là 1 kỹ năng rất quan trọng trong lúc viết
và các bạn học sinh thường gặp khó khăn với kỹ năng này
Có 1 số cách để paraphrase
Cách 1: Thay từ đồng nghĩa
Many = a lot of = plenty of = a large number of
Choose = select = decide = opt to
Have children = give birth
When they are older = later in life
A large number of women decided to give birth later in life.
Cách 2: Thay đổi cấu trúc
There are plenty of women selecting to give birth later in life
There is an increasing tendency for women to give birth later in life.
VD: Many women are choosing to have children when they are older

1. Bắt đầu câu với “it”
It is important for the government to create more employment opportunities for young
people
In order to reduce the unemployment rate, it is vital for the authorities to create more job
opportunities for the youth as the labor market becoming more competitive.
It is necessary for us to recycle on a regular basis so as to/as a way to/ in order to combat
climate change
2. Bắt đầu câu với “there”
There is a need for the government to create more employment opportunities for young
people.

3. Bắt đầu câu với “with”: competitive labour market / serious natural disaster
With the labor market becoming more competitive, the authorities should create more job
offers for the youth.
With the natural disaster becoming more serious, it is necessary to recycle regularly as
way to fight against climate change.
4. Bắt đầu câu với V-ing
Creating more job offers for the youth should be done by the authorities.
Recycling regularly should be done in order to combat climate change
5. Câu bị động
More employment opportunities for the youth should be created by the authorities
Regular recycle should be implemented as a way to fight against climate change.
6. Bắt đầu câu với “as”

7. Bắt đầu câu với “in order to”
In order to reduce unemployment rate, the authorities should create more job offers for
the youth.
In order to fight against climate change, regular recycle should be implemented.
VD1: “The government should create more employment opportunities for young people”
VD2: “We should recyle regularly in order to combat climate change”

The government and individuals are spending too much money on national celebrations like new year or
festivals
“ IT”  It is unnecessary for the government and individuals to spend abundant amount of money on
national festival.
“There”  There is a waste of money for the authorities and national inhabitants to celebrate domestic
festivals.
“With”  With the importance of preserving traditional heritage, the authorities and individuals decided
to spend a huge budget for special occasions
“V-ing”  Spending too much money on national celebrations is not necessary for the
government and individuals
“Câu bị động”  Too much money is spent on national celebrations by the government and
individuals as a way to preserve traditional heritage.
“In order to”  In order to preserve traditional heritage, a huge budget is spent by the authorities
and individuals for special occasions.

Topic Sentence là câu tóm lược ý chính của đoạn văn. Khi viết câu này cần/nên đảm bảo các tiêu
chí: Ngắn gọn - Tổng quát ý - Rõ ràng.
1. Bắt đầu câu với chủ thể

2. Bắt đầu câu với there
