The subcultures in Japan and Colombia have a lot of differences, for example the

religion that a major part of Japan is the Shinto and Buddhism. However, In Colombia a
major part of the religion is Catholicism. For that reason, these subcultures developed rules
and values that represent the differences between both. The Shinto has a lot of difference
between the Catholicism, the way of see the world and how the nature is changing for both
represents different things. Also, they represent different point of view of how a deity is.
Both have differences that we can compare, but they have similarities too, for that reason is
important analyze correctly the information and the important of that religion for the world
because represent a culture.

First, the belief that the Catholicism and The Shinto Japan have differences. The
most important is that in the Shinto, they believe in worship sacred spirits which take
concepts of nature like the wind, the sun, the storm, the fire, the water, animals, the land,
etc. It means that they believe in the existence of a lot of types of gods that are representing
in nature. In other hand, the Catholicism believe the existence of a unique powerful god.
The Colombians take this religion from Roma (Italy) that it was born, and the Shinto was
born in Japan. In addition, Other important religion coexists in Japan and that is the
Buddhism, this one can be with the Shinto because even complement each other by
considering kami to be manifestations of Buddha.

Second, The Shinto believe in the reborn in a “kami” that means a sacred spirit of
nature, but the Catholicism believe something different. The kami are spirit of the nature,
and in this religion think that everyone can be a spirit, for that reason is common see little altar
in the house of the old people where there is in the most important place in the house, here
give presents and pray to their ancestor. In the other hand, the Catholicism think different, we
believe in the paradise and the hell. For that reason, in this religion is important the actions
that we did in live, because unless you complete all the commandment, you will probably to
be in the hell. In the Catholicism are rule that can be the commandment and that represent
the right and wrong. However, the Shinto do not believe in that, here is no absolute right and
wrong, and nobody is perfect. Shinto is an optimistic faith, as humans are thought to be
fundamentally good, and evil is believed to be caused by evil spirits. For that reason, they
do ritual to keep away the bad spirits.

Third, the most important person in the Catholicism is completely different

between the Shinto. Also, the contrast from the rituals and the amulet. In the
Catholicism the most important is the saint father (santo padre), he has the authority in the
Vatican. In the Shinto, we need see it in the past, in their religion talked about a woman
who can be the stronger and intelligent kami her name was “Amaterasu”, they said that the
emperor was descendant direct of Amaterasu, for that reason he has a lot of power.
Although can consider that the all the power is for a man, we can contrast that in the
Catholicism a woman cannot be a priest, but in the Shinto, they can do it. In addition, other
different are the rituals, In the Catholicism, we do not do that, because we believe that god is
always protect us because we are good people, but in the Shinto, they believe that is necessary do it
because they consider that we are bad guys for bad spirits, they conclude for solve that
problem need rituals for put off the bad spirits. Also, the use of amulet is common in that culture,
and they have a variety of that, can be since love until fortune. In the Catholicism, they do
not believe in that we only believe in the cross that can protect us of everything.
In conclusion, we can see the difference between both religion until their belief, their gods,
the order of power, the inclusion, and the use of rituals. The most important is here we
cannot say who is the best because that represent the belief of their life. These subcultures
represent the major in both culture and have two point of view of a goddess. I represent the
contrast of these point of view, and I analyzed the reason. The Shinto represent a benevolent
religion where you are in harmony with all. However, the Catholicism represent a severe
religion where your action has consequences. That religion shows us the variety that we can
find around the world, the differences between cultures and new information.
