Zapr Media Labs Sep 2018 – Dec 2019

Role Lead/Manager DevOps

● Responsible for deployment of Polestar application (pretty similar to Shazam) on AWS with 120
servers which includes 15 On demand and 115 spot instances. Later we migrated the same application
on Google cloud platform.
● Setting up the Kubernetes cluster on AWS and deployment of content scraping application. This
application was deployed on 10 Kubernetes nodes and we were using 100 pods at a time.
● Involved in Designing and implementing CI/CD pipeline for all the Zapr products.
● Observability is an important criterion for any distributed architecture. I worked with all the other
stakeholders to set up proper Grafana dashboards for all important application and service metrics.
This also includes defining the thresholds values and raising alerts (critical alerts were raised with
Pagerduty).
● Managing and guiding a team of 7 engineers. I was also involved in setting up the team from scratch.
● Monitoring our AWS cost expenses and make sure we are optimally using all the AWS resources.

Role Principal Applications Engineer (DevOps)

● Responsible for OKCS (Oracle Knowledge Cloud Services) to be installed, provisioned and verified in
the RightNow Cloud environment. Designed and implemented the core code for deployment using
Core Java and WLST (Java + Python) scripts.
● Designed the Jenkins jobs to automate the end to end workflow - starting from creating a build tarball,
