a-) Introduction
the economic effect of the global pandemic (covid-19) includes acceleration of the digitalization
processes. Companies now need to immediately use digital platforms to enable accesss to jobs for
their employee.
Human Resource Management has an essential role to play in helping organisation to navigate in
the situation of dramatic changes caused by the pandemic lockdown.
The research is including by the situation in which Business process continuity has been affected by
the regulation aiming to prevent the spread of Covid-19, causing dismissals or reduction the staff.
The aim of this research is to estimate the level and magnitude of the challenge companies have
been facing in terms of HRM, and to assume the consequences, what changes are expecting to be
initiated.
b-) Human Resource Management role In the adaptation of the workforce
recently, the Covid-19 pandemic has created demanding conditions for Human Resource managers.
In the context of dramatic changes around the world due to the pandemic, organizations need to
respond and adopt to the alterations and accordingly manage the workforce (Carnevale & Halak,
2020).
Sheppard 2020, argues that companies need to pripare for further changes and turbulence times.
They should adopt technologies that are platform based and develop novel business models
(Sheppard, 2020). Human Resource Management has a significant role inhelping employees to
overcome the difficulties brouhgt by the unexpected changes In the workplace as well as In the
society (Carnevale & Hatak, 2020). Besides, the digital and collaborative skills of the workforce are
required to move to the virtual work (Sheppard, 2020).
As remote working from home intensifies, Human Resource Management has to cope with the
stress of thesis employees associated with the removal boundares between work and family (Guuge
& Bohns, 2020).
Moreover, the increasing unemployment due to the recession imposes more pressure on the people.
The international labour organzation (ILO) 2020 estimates that 195 millions ful-time workers will lose
their jobs worlwide this year therefore, employrrs need to learn new skills that increase their
emplyability in the digital space (Sheppard, 2020). In this regard, Human Resource manager should
elaborate strategies anabling employees to use advanced technologies as well as update their
gigital skills (Parry & Battista, 2019).
c-) Effects of the Covid-19 crisis on Guinea companies
c-1-) Methodology
we carried out online cross-selectional survey among literate piople (from secondary school to
University a free online survey (http://esurv.org) platform was used to sond questionnaires to inernet
users, and they were encourtaged to pass it to one other through social media (Facebook,
Whatsapp, Mesenger) by using snowball sampling. The study population was diverse, and
participants came from all sectors of activity in guinea. However, active internet users were
predominant, for our period of study was short. I ran from May 1 to May 10 2020.
Participation in the study was voluntary. Participants should have been at least 18 years of age.
Institutional approval was obtained from the scientific medical committee of koffi anna University in
Conakry/Guinea (025/UKAG/P8/2020).
