I hope you are well. I am writing you a quick message to say we got the invitation to your party.
I’m really sorry, but I couldn’t come to your party. Unfortunately, the next week I have my final
exams and I don't have much time to go out. Recently, I had problems with my academic
performance. That's why I need to study hard these days. If you could change the date, I’m sure
that many more people will be able to go and you wouldn't have so much food left over.
