Sidetracking

1.) Work trough until there is no more reactive torque showing up on

the tool face. (about 30 min.)
2.) Time Drilling.
1st meter at 5 min per inch. (120 sec per cm.)
2nd meter at 4 min per inch (96 sec per cm.)
3rd meter at 3 min per inch (72 sec per cm.)
4th meter at 2 min per inch (48 sec per cm.)
5th meter at 1 min per inch (24 sec per cm.)

If the ledge look’s good then start turning up the tool face at this
point.If in doubt slide another meter or two at 1 min per inch.
When you calculate you are off then start to rotate ahead.
NOTE: (Usually slide about 9 to 12 meters before starting to
rotate.)
