The Posters

SHARING THE IDEALS OF GREAT FILIPINOS

TO THE WORLD

On 22 May 2018, Project Saysay unveiled a collection of

new poster designs called Ibarra Posters, named in
honor of Ibarra Watches, a premium Filipino watch
brand and Project Saysay s benefactor for this project.
The Ibarra Posters project aims to produce a series of
posters (made of matte-laminated sticker on 3mm
12”x18” sintra board) from the pantheon of 50 great
Filipinos selected by the historians and educators of
Project Saysay . These posters are distributed for free,
with funds generated through benefactor program.
As a salvo, Ibarra and Project Saysay launched the Sentro Rizal
series, named after Sentro Rizal, the primary Philippine cultural
center established across 31 Philippine Foreign Service Posts,
on 22 May 2018.
The second phase of the collaboration is the DepEd Series,
aiming to produce 50 kinds of posters for free distribution to
various Philippine schools. This is in partnership with the
Department of Education, the National Historical Commission
of the Philippines, and the National Commission for Culture
and the Arts.
Project Saysay is an advocacy that spreads the ideals and values of our
great forebears (Palaganapin ang diwa’t aral ng mga dakilang
Pilipino), envisioning to be a disseminator of relevant, useful, and
inspiring information sourced from history, in print and online. Its
objectives are to: [1] Distribute quality posters made of matte-
laminated sticker on 3mm 12”x18” sintra board to Philippine schools
and government office for free, here and abroad, featuring the words
of wisdom of great Filipinos; [2] generate sensible and accurate online
materials that are shareable and attune to the needs of time; and [3]
create platforms to express creativity and academic exchanges related
to history and culture.
The Ibarra Posters project stemmed from Project Saysay’s flagship
program since its founding in May 2013: to distribute 21,000 free
posters until 31 December 2021 to various Philippine schools, here
and abroad.

As of 27 August 2018, Project Saysay has distributed 3,736 posters to

1,755 classrooms and offices of 175 institutions, here and abroad.
Ibarra Watches funds the Ibarra Project from proceeds for its sales.
Generous individuals and institutions are encouraged to sponsor the
printing of the posters for their chosen beneficiary schools. Printing
cost per poster is Php 150.00. Classroom-poster ration is 1:2 and at
least 2/3 of the total number of classrooms must benefit to be
counted as beneficiary school.

Interested benefactors may contact project.saysay@gmail.com.

Project Saysay exerts effort to familiarize our students and
countrymen abroad with our great men and women who mattered in
society, along with their ideals, values, and wisdoms they bequeathed
to posterity and to humanity; foster the idea of nation-building,
greatness by being civic minded, nobleness of a Filipino, sacrifice (be it
great or small), and humanity, adhering to the national motto, “Maka-
Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa.”
