Composing Professional Correspondence: Application for College Admission

Application for College Admission

- In this day and age, high school is basically mandatory, and in most cases, its main purpose has
become preparing students for college. While it might not seem like it, the classes you take and
activities you do in high school play a role in shaping you as both a member of society and as a
college applicant.
- It’s also time in your life to begin exploring options and figuring out who you are and where
you want to go. The opportunities available to high school students in even the smallest and
most remote school districts are impressive, especially given the increased communication and
learning possibilities afforded by new technology.

 College Entrance Examination

- Taking college entrance exams that will determine the university you will study at can
be a daunting task, especially to someone who is yet to experience the true rigors of life
– someone like you.
- College entrance exams are standardized tests in multiple-choice format. Generally,
these are aptitude tests which measure your knowledge and background in different
subject areas – whether it be your writing, verbal, mathematical and scientific ability –
but different universities have different types of exams.

How to Conquer Entrance Exams

 First thing that you should do is to prepare early.
 Make sure you understand what the question is asking.
 Use your common sense and answer smoothly.
 Keep a positive attitude.
 Avoid cramming.
 Get sufficient rest during your review and the night before your exam.
 Eat a well-balanced diet.
 Do your best to gain confidence and just relax.
 Pray fervently.
