The name Rio Haryanto has recently become a topic

of conversation among the public. His name began to
be known to the public when he won several series in
the GP2 (Formula 2 Grand Prix) race, his name then
became a lot of headlines in various media when he
entered as one of the most prestigious Formula 1
racers. Regarding the profile and biography of Rio
Haryanto himself, he was born on January 22, 1993 in
the city of Solo, Central Java. Her father is named
Sinyo Haryanto and her mother is named Indah
Pennywati. Rio Haryanto is known to be the youngest

Start racing at 6 years of age

Rio Haryanto's father is known as a former national
racer, he always instills discipline in his children. And
just like the saying "fruit does not fall far from the
tree", Rio Haryanto since he was a child has loved
challenges like his father. When he was 6 years old,
Rio Haryanto had started driving karts and participated
in races in 1999 and his achievements made him the
national champion of the cadet class in 1999.

Rio Haryanto has been active in the world of kart

racing for 7 years and he has achieved various
achievements in the world of kart racing such as the
best junior athlete award in 2005 and 2006 by the
Indonesian Motor Association. He also won first place
in the Asian Karting Open Championship series 1 at
the Guia circuit, Macau, China.

Then in 2008, Ryo Haryanto then started his

professional career as a car racer. He participated in
three events, namely the Asian Formula Challenge,
Formula Asia 2.0 and BMW Pacific in the Asian
continent. In that event, he was the fastest in Formula
Asia 2.0, managed to win two series in the event and
came out as third winner in the event.

In 2009, he then started participating in racing

competitions in many series such as the Australian
Drivers Championship, Asian Formula Renault
Challenge and BMW Pacific. In the BMW Pacific
Championship, he joined the Meritus team from
Malaysia and Rio Haryanto managed to win 11 series
out of 15 overall series.
Rio Haryanto's main target is to be able to enter the
World Formula 1 event. For that in 2010, thanks to
some sponsorship, he then succeeded in participating in
the GP3 Europe Series event. As a result he managed
to come out as champion in the racing series held in
Turkey, then he won 1st Runner Up in the Silverstone
series and 2nd Runner Up in Italy. Rio also came out as
The Best Driver Manor Racing. Thanks to Rio
Haryanto's victory in GP3, the song Indonesia Raya
first echoed in the race on the European continent.

Rio Haryanto Entered the GP2 Series Event

Thanks to his achievements in GP3, Ryo Haryanto then
participated in the Formula 2 GP championship in
2012. He joined the Carlin GP2 Team. In that year he
also tried the Formula 1 racing car belonging to the
Marussia F1 team in a trial at the Silrverstone circuit,
English. That also made Rio successfully qualify for
the FIA Superlicense, which is a must-have license for
racers who want to take part in the Formula 1 arena, he
is also the first person from Indonesia to get it.
In 2013, he then joined the GP2 Addax Team, but in
that team Rio recorded poor results with a few points
he got in 4 series of races, although during joining the
team he quickly won the first podium at the Silverstone
circuit, England. Due to poor car performance and
mechanics, Rio Haryanto then moved to the Caterham
GP2 Team in the 2014 season partnering with racer
Alexander Rossi from the United States.

Then entering 2015, Rio Haryanto then chose to join

the Campos Racing team. He managed to come out as
runner up in the Formula 2 GP series held in Bahrain.
Then he also managed to come out as second winner in
the race held in Autria. As a result he came out as 4th
winner in GP2. This achievement can be used as a
stepping stone to enter the Formula 1 event while
looking for sponsors to support Rio Haryanto in
Formula 1 races.

Rio Haryanto Becomes a Formula 1 Racer

Then entering 2016, Rio Haryanto succeeded in
entering the most prestigious jet land race in the world,
namely Formula 1 by joining the Manor Marussia
Racing F1 Team after successfully fulfilling the
requirements by having an F1 superlicense and also
having a sponsor fund of 15 million Euros which he
managed to collect. from various sponsors. This made
Rio Haryanto the first Indonesian racer to make it into
the world Formula 1 championship. At Manor Racing,
he teamed up with German driver Pascal Wehlein. Rio
Haryanto currently lives in Singapore while studying at
