1. Refer to the figure, find


(a) the compass bearing of A from O,
(b) the true bearing of O from A.

2. The figure shows a track ABCD. Find the true bearings and compass bearings of
(a) C from D,
(b) B from A.

3. In the figure, two ships B and C leave port A at the same time. Ship B sails in the
direction N73°E for 64 km and ship C sails in the direction S17°E for 50 km.
(a) What is the distance between B and C?
(b) In what direction is B from C? (Answer in true bearing/compass bearing)

4. In the figure, two islands A and B are due south of a ship at O. After the ship has sailed
5 km due east to C, the true bearings of A and B from C are 252° and 208° respectively.
Find the distance between A and B.
