RECENT DOCTORAL WORK IN THE SOVIET UNION

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: The Bulletin has long emphasized doctoral
work as a large component of the research efforts in music education. Most of
our efforts have focused on doctoral work within the United States. Recently,
through the assistance of Dr. Maria Manturzewska of the Warsaw Academy of
Music, we were able to obtain a listing of recent doctoral work in the Soviet
Union. This is a 1975 listing and, as far as we can determine, the first to be
published in the Soviet Union. The expectation is that this listing will be
regular, but how regular is not established. - R. Colwell
