Information
Paper jams are often caused by the condition of the media in
the paper trays. There are three media conditions easily corrected with simple steps.
Loading of paper and placement of the paper guides.
Dog eared paper loaded in the paper tray. Paper curling caused by high humidity in the building or where the paper is stored.
Loading Paper and the Correct Placement of the Paper
Guides
Paper guides should be snug against the ream of paper in
the tray. There may be more than one paper guide to adjust, side and length guides. For proper performance paper should always be neat and square while in the tray. Dog Eared Paper
Dog eared paper could be at the top or at the bottom of a
ream of paper loaded in a paper tray. Remove the entire ream, discard all dog eared paper from the ream and replace the clean paper in the paper tray. Ensure paper guides are snug against the ream of paper.
Paper Curling
Paper will curl as it absorbs moisture from humidity causing
jamming. Remove the entire ream of paper from the tray and flip the ream over so the top page is now on the bottom. In high humidity offices this can be performed as often as needed.
Store all paper in a low humidity environment
