The following are the checklist of recommendations on

effective storage and handling of paper to avoid creasing

during printing .

1) The humidity of paper storage area to be maintained.

2) The paper can not store in open area to sun light.
3) Do not store paper where water can be splashed.
4) The wrapping of paper can not be open to early as received.
5) Storage area surface should be flat for paper storage.
1)Maintain Moisture Levels(Humidity):
Paper is made from cellulose
fibre, an organic material. When the manufacturer presses the
cellulosic fiber together to form a sheet of paper the resulting
material ‘breathes’ so it will be absorb moisture in high humidity or
release moisture in very dry conditions.Consiquently care must be
taken in storing paper to assure that the desired properties
acquired in manufacturing are maintained during storage and
handling.Maintained relative humidity of 45-55% or temperature
24-27 oC .

The edges of paper, where it has been cut, are the most sensitive to
moisture , especially if the wrapping is open.Moisture changes in paper
can result in wavy or tight edges and may impact the way sheet feed also
creasing problem to be come in to a press .

If wrapping/packing of reel open not correct,it will

change moisture of paper.

2) Keep Away From Doors, Windows, and Vent :
Avoid storing paper
near heating and air conditioning vents, or near windows and doors that
are used frequently. The temperature and humidity fluctuation near these
area could damage the paper.

3) Protect The Packaging :
Paper is shipped in packaging that has been designed to
maintain its ‘as manufactured’ moisture level, which means the best way to keep paper
ready to print is to store it in its original packaging until its needed.
4) Keep Reel/Ream on Flat Surface :
Store reel/ream paper on flat surface , do not
store paper on uneven surface. This can adversely affect the physical properties
of the paperand cause poor print qaulity ,paper jam, or paper pick issues
